IATF 16949 Certification Body Change

I'm in the process of moving manufacturing from one location to another, but I'm having a super tough time getting a hold of our certification body. What hurtles would I need to jump through if I decide to change certification bodies?

Thinking of moving DQS to NSF.

What has the group experienced in the past?

Hard no on the CB you're thinking of moving to. Don't know DQS, but I can all but guarantee their customer service will be 100% better. Good luck.

Are there any good registrars you've dealt with that I should contact? If NSF is that bad, sounds like they might be partners with DGS....zero contact and its been nearly 2 weeks.

I've enjoyed my experience with TUV SUD from the medical device side of their operations. Probably the most responsive NB I've worked with to date.

We have had good results with DNV - they have received recognition from IAOB more than once in fact in 2023 they received Certification Body of the year. Don't get me wrong, all CB's in my experience continue to have challenges with staffing (especially IATF certified auditors) due to the "great resignation" however DNV has consistently resolved issues and are pretty good with response time. We have two certifications with them currently, working on a third.
Note: From a time/resource and cost standpoint, in days gone by it worked out better (if you are able to wait) to transfer to another CB at recertification. What does it hurt to request a proposal? I would include more than one CB in the mix.
