Sustainability questionnaire

Hi received a letter from a Company today stating that if we want to continue, and also future business we are being Mandated to pay another Company to complete "our" Sustainability information

the choice is a 1 year or a 3 year membership which isnt cheap !

Yet another £££ con that we have to pay out -- H&S, ISOs, Accreditations and now Sustainability

Give to get, I always thought it was the Middle East that this went on.. now it appears to be worldwide

Money that should now be factored into the new contracts and my lead to loss of work by having to increase costs !

Has anyone else had this latest "mandated sign up "?

Thanks

Routine for some of the big US players to demand sustainability and ethical practices certifications of their suppliers. But, recently had a US customer recently charge for their audits of us which they had outsourced to a third party. The revenue/costs made it worthwhile for us to comply, but I don't like this one bit and think this sets a dangerous precedent.

Kind of reviving an old thread here, but I also got a 3rd party mandated "survey" for which we had to do a subscription. What I will tell you folks is this: I'll be retired in the not too distant future, but for the younger ones, you need to get on these regulatory committees and oppose this kind of thing. The intent is OK, but the effectiveness doesn't justify the cost impact. And it is the small family businesses that suffer the most under these superfluous requirements.

Well I don't see any negative news about Ecovadis.

I have nothing bad to say about these service such as Ecovadis, except that they are subscription based and represent expenses that really have zero financial benefit for small, family-owned businesses. So if there is going to be such a service, let it be standardized so small businesses don't end up having to subscribe to multiple services.
