Transferring a calibrated counting scale to a sister company

I have a calibrated counting scale in California and will move to a sister company in Mexico, does it need to be re-calibrated? I thought I read somewhere the scale needed to be reverified but not re-calibrated, can anyone provide some direction on my question?

"Verification" in this context is a form of calibration, which is comparison of a device to an accepted standard. This is generally a matter of choice, and the choice should be based on risk. If the sister company has a set of calibrated weights that cover the spread of weight the scale will be used to weigh, just that might be enough.

I agree with Jim. Verification of the function of the scale is (generally) sufficient. The key is to do a proper verification. If the sister company is making the same parts that you were, send a verified sample set (if feasible) to be used to reverify the function after arrival and setup.
