Obsolete Thermotron Controller access?

Hey all,

This is a complete shot in the dark:

I have a chamber that has an old 7800 series controller. Anyone happen to know the factory password for those controllers? I want to pull parameters, and be able to set up a backup if needed.

Thermotron isn't really willing to support those controllers anymore, and my management doesn't want to put the cash into a controller upgrade or new chamber yet.

Thanks!

Hello there!

there are several steps listed here that don’t seem to indicate the need for a password:

https://thermotron.com/pdf/_service/software-updates/thermotrak2-manual.pdf

Thanks! I'm familiar with that manual. The problem is twofold: I don't have a Thermotrak license, and the issue is not around pulling the tuning parameters, but having access to change the channel limits themselves, which are factory set. Goal is to be able to use legacy controller parts to keep this thing running for another couple years.

On the even older controllers, there was a hidden 2-button access that wasn't silkscreened on the control panel. But they got rid of that and went to passwords on the 7800.

Gotcha!

yea I see your quandary. If management won’t spring for a Yokogawa UT controller to replace it, I wouldn’t do a thing and let it break down.

Obrigado!

Ola , conseguiu a solução.

Google translate:
Hi, got the solution.
I have a problem that the equipment turned off and on by itself and the enter key is lighting up.
I have this factory password 21175669

I'm even further behind with a 7800 in worse shape. I wonder if anyone has schematics for this controller and/or common problems/solution.
