Preparing an ESD workstation

Starting to get Involved
Hi,

I would like to prepare my own ESD workstation to protect PC BAS, which I am going to analyze. I have some items (please see attached), which probably can help me, but I do not have experience how to use it and properly prepare my workstation.

I have also esd mat with two pins for connection.

Could you please let me know how to prepare the station and how to check that it is grounded properly?

Thank you,

Hello adisc, I am sorry for the delay in this response.

I am encouraged by your having invested in these equipment components for ESD protection against latent damage to electronic components.

Antistat has published The ultimate ESD workstation safety guide, which describes the function of the various equipment components. DesignSpark also made a good web page titled Creating an ESD Workstation.

I hope this helps!

I am not affiliated with Antistat or DesignSpark.

Old-ish post (coupla weeks) so I don't know if the OP will answer (I hope so).

I have assumed he was using the plural of PC-BA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and just capitalized the "s". HTH

I learned a long time ago that we should assume nothing when there is ambiguity in a question. I think you're probably right, but let's allow the OP to explain.

A fine point...I figured it was unimportant since he/she was asking about the ESD table anyway.
Doesn't take away anything from your point, though.
