Interview Question

If you have three non-conformances to deal with. How would you prioritize them? Which one will you work on first?

Where's your greatest risk? Highest risk most likely most important. Wild guess on my part.

@Randy could you please elaborate why would you go behind the highest risk first?
Why wouldn’t you? the nonconformance that can hurt you the most should always be addressed first. Which would you prefer your doctor address first: a hang nail or cancer? A bullet wound to your chest or a broken toe? Please explain why YOU don’t think the worst risk shouldn’t be addressed first? Also explain why you are unable to address more than one nonconformance at a time.

Hello @Bev D thank you so much for explaining. I definitely agree with what you are saying and had the same thought process but wasn't sure if its in the right direction.
I was asked during an interview, if you have three non-conformances how would you prioritize? Like which which you will investigate first?
My answer was, I will look at the risk first then go with high risk , medium risk and low risk.

Lmk if I am missing something or I could have answered in a better way.

If I was asked that in an interview (or a test or writing assignment :notme:), I would say that a nonconformance that poses a safety risk would be first priority; a nonconformance where nonconforming product could be - or may have already been - delivered to the customer would be next; everything else after that based on costs, etc.

I'm kinda stunned, are you being fun or are you serious?

A questiuon similar to yours was one I imposed on police trainees many yeasrs ago.......You're facing 3 threats 20 feet away intending to kill you, 1 with a shotgun, 1 with a pistol, 1 with a knife...........Who do you take out 1st? 2nd? Last?......................All related to risk identification & management.

Wow, I'm having a very bad, terrible, awful day! I'm hoping I can shoot like Jerry Miculek and I try to take them out in the order you listed them.

To the OP: Yes, in order of risk!
