Looking For Excel Template for Tracking & Trending Rejections

Hello All :bigwave:

I did a search through the Cove's past related posts, and searched through the Attachments / Templates posted in the past, but did not really see what I was looking for...

Currently I am using Excel to track rejections of lots produced. It is pelletized plastic beads, most for medical purposes. Some of the reasons for rejections are contamination, the wrong color, poor physical properties, poor pellet quality, etc...

Does anyone have a good template for tracking these sort of rejections?

Much Thanks :thanx:

Good morning Nikki,

What you are describing so far is simple with Excel. I would probably use a stacked histogram, keeping the data entries arranged in periods of time so they can be trended. If you care to give a sample set of data I can probably whip something up for you.

Wow thanks so much! I greatly appreciate it. I am not an expert with Excel and any help you can provide I would greatly appreciate it.

Attached is an example of the type of format I was using. Rejection types most commonly are: Contamination, Off-Color, Pellet Quality, Poor Physical Properties, Formulation Error, Process Error... I then try to break them down by "who" is responsible for it: Production, QC, R&D... View attachment Example.xls

Hmmm.... given the type of data you have listed, how about an Elephant Chart? We have a few versions - type in the key words in the search field in the Post Attachments list. I have one in there that will even separate out yes/no criteria like yours, and count only the scrapped ones for reporting.

I am sure the chart could be refined further, I have learned some more about Excel since I posted that version. But why don't you give it a try for now?

There's also an "NC Tracking Log - generic" in there that might suit you.

I was hoping to put together an excel spreadsheet that can do all the work for me.. if you will. Can the spreadsheet you posted do that for me?

I need a spreadsheet that can put together graphs for me - it can group the issues and total them. Maybe it can be set up so that it can even group together all the issues per each operator, extrusion line, etc.

What it boils down to, is that I log in all this information, but find myself going through it all - over and over - to break it all down by issue, cause of issue, operator responsible, extrusion line.

Is there an excel spreadsheet that can do this for me? Or does anyone know how I could make my spreadsheet do this work for me? Or am I just hoping for something that is too good to be true?

Much thanks!

Oh I am sorry, I have not made significant updates to that chart in some time. I did, however make some formula tweaks and updated the instructions.

I would recommend building this on your own - you know what your needs are.

But, to try and help do you need a template for Daily rejection and ppm analysis OR a template for Daily Rejection AND ppm Analysis??

Next - what is the process - please explain in under 25 words.

I await your response.
