Starting to get Involved
Hey there, I have a question about how SQC pack calculates control limits (it came up in a recent audit). I just attempted to calculate Cp and Cpk manually and compare it to one of our charts on SQC pack. I get the same value for the mean and standard deviation as SQC pack does, however I get slightly different values for the upper and lower control limits. I was taught to calculate these by adding/subtracting 3 standard deviations from the mean value. It does not appear SQC pack does this in exactly the same way. I'm curious if anyone can explain what SQC pack does differently when calculating these values.
