Hi Professionals,

I am looking to switch to a role of Supplier Quality Engineer to an organisation in aerospace industry. So far I have got the experience in heavy construction machinery as a SQE.I am looking for the support from the professionals in this forum to help me understand the expectations and challenges that I would face in this new industry different from the one that I am working with now.
The base framework of Supplier Technical Audits, PPAP ,monitoring defect ratios to assess the quality of supplier deliverables, support in problem solving -RCA,CAPA implementations is known to me. Other than that, is there anything else that I should be aware of in order to perform well? Are there any specific challenges or risks that should be known with regard to this ? Please leave your thoughts. Thanks.

Peruse the extensive available material in the IAQG SCMH website. You will realize the body of knowledge in aero quality is quite demanding.

Good luck.

We are a supplier to aerospace industry but I don't work as SQE but as a quality professional. Some of the challenges you may face are low samples for testing (specially in space products), customers dictate which suppliers are approved to supply components and it is not easy to change suppliers, restrictions to get data from customers etc.
