The American Society for Quality (ASQ) has approved a new quality certification for construction quality, the ASQ Certified Construction Quality Manager (CCQM). The construction industry is a $11.5T industry with 8% growth year over year. This is a major milestone for the global construction industry, as there has been no comprehensive quality certification for this sector until now.
The CCQM certification is applicable to all construction professionals internationally. It will help construction professionals to develop the skills and knowledge they need to manage quality in all phases of the construction process. This will lead to reduced costs, improved efficiency, and a higher quality of work.
I am honored to have played an important role in the development of the CCQM certification as Body of Knowledge & Certification Chair. I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to this important project, and I am excited to see the CCQM certification help construction professionals improve the quality of their work.
We are currently in the exam development process. We expect the pilot exam (internationally) to be available by Q1 2025. We will be starting the manuscript for ASQ CCQM handbook to be also available by the same time. If you are a quality leader in the construction industry, please spread the word.
