I wonder if this is part of the following pattern.

Terrible thought, but humans often do the unthinkable. Time will tell.

Wild guess on my part but might possibly be an actual accident

I thought I read there were some renovations going on? Could easily be an accident.

Accident during renovations is the prevailing assumption at this point. That's my bet, too.

Can you imagine "being that guy"? Several years ago someone in our state was working on a fire suppression system at an air force base and accidentally set it off causing several feet of foam to spread out across runways covering helicopters. And I thought I'd hate to have been that guy!
