Transfer of earlier Elsmar account into new account?

Hi All and especially Marc,

I'm not a newbie here. I had an account earlier, with the handle 'Sam4Quality', and was quite active during those years (2008 to 2012 I guess). However, my registration was under a hotmail account I used to have. I deactivated that email account many years back and also hadn't got an opportunity to visit the Cove for quite some time.

Today, I tried logging in using my earlier handle and password, it said 'there is no user by that name'. Also, email entry came back with similar response.
Hence, I registered under my current yahoo email ID, thankfully using the same handle. The site accepted it!
So, my query is can I retrieve my earlier account and transfer it to my current account?

Please assist if this is possible.

If your old account was not active for quite some time then it might have been "pruned" as Marc put it. In early 2019, he made a house-keeping post about inactive accounts.

Since you were able to register again with the same name that indicates that "Sam4Quality" was not in the current list of users.

I checked. It was pruned as an inactive account. The posts are still in the database in the database of posts, but the old account is gone. Try searching using your old user name as search term.

Many accounts were pruned some time ago but pruning doesn't delete posts.

Yes, I was able to find ALL my previous posts with my name. Brought back some lovely memories!
