Germany based on what the site says.

Though at 42,000 tonnes I wouldn't want to think about the shipping costs. ;)

UM, Icy, my Daddy was a plumber, you do not need one of those diggers, no matter how much of a "man thing" it would seem to be. You'd only create more problems, and probably not get your inspection OK'd. hmmmm, the smilies aren't working for me right now....pretend the roflmao one is here.

:mg: From the link. Imagine if this thing does indeed have legs and runs amok destroying buildings and cities. Do you call in the German luftwaffe then?

Oh, man, you just gave me a great idea for the next really bad B science fiction movie. WWII science project reject unearthed by giant digger, and digger becomes possessed, much to the chagrin of the local populace. Bulldozers are sent in, eaten up, and spat out.

Multiple endings:
1. Local plumbing/health inspector declares the resulting drain field nonconforming and issues citation, shutting down the project!!

2. It eats one of those big Mercedes sedans and chips a tooth.

3. Killer bees invade, shorting out the circuitry and rendering the behemoth immobile.

4. Come on, folks, help me out here!

Hollywood, here I come!

(OK, OK, its been a long week).

In the end, a group of dedicated quality managers discover the one fatal design flaw. One selfless soul (sorry, not me, I'm much too self centered to volunteer knowing it will cause me to die) volunteers to sneak in under the machine and jam the critical part, saving the world. Dead QM is awarded the highest civilian honor for bravery posthumously, the rest are invited to the white house to receive their own medals for meritorious service to their country and attend a state dinner in their honor.

Wasn't it here a while ago that Marc (I think) posted something about a plant with a stop button that shut down the entire operation? It was pushed accidentally by a subcontractor, and ended up costing lots of $. The button was poorly labeled, no guard, etc. and would most certainly have been a design flaw.

I honor of our fallen comrade, the state dinner will consist of cubed steak and (s)mashed potatoes.

This plot just might work!
