The whole issue of recycling is a nightmare, certainly in the UK. I don't know if you are looking at marking products in connection with manufacturing, or are looking at what you can do as a consumer to recycle "better".
In the UK our kerbside collections are usually managed by our local authorities but most subcontract the service out to commercial providers rather than running the service themselves. This has lead to the bizarre situation where things can differ within the space of a few yards depending on where you live. In my area we have 4 main containers to use, one for waste foodstuffs, one for "landfill" garbage, one for "garden waste" and one for all recyclable materials that can be recycled by the contractor (for example they cannot recycle expanded polystyrene which has to go in the landfill bin). Other areas give out different bins for glass, paper, cans etc. For smaller properties this can mean that your entire front garden is taken up by waste bins, or you have to keep some in your rear garden and remember to place them kerbside on the correct day. The system is a total mess (IMHO) with no joined-up thinking or national strategy

Hello ChrisM,

Thanks a lot for the information. I am searching the recycling codes of specified materials to mark them on the body of the products according to the external body material for ease to recycle the product.

There are specific symbols given for 6 plastic materials but what about rest composite & plastic material? How to put their names below the Mobius Loop that is what I am confused about.
