can the IMDS satisfy the REACH regulation in automotive industry?!!

IMDS is the broadly accepted tool to prove ELV compliance. ELV = RoHS for automotive.
DXC technology (the company behind IMDS) offers a Reach export from IMDS.
RoHS cannot be derived from IMDS.
As IMDS is for ELV it is only for automotive market.
REACH is for everything produced in Europe.
RoHS is for almost everything except automotive market. It is only applicable for automotive parts that can be used autonomously outside the car. Then also CE is required.

According to one of my large customers that works heavily in the automotive sector: yes!
IMDS is can be used to ensure the communication in the supply chain (article 33, if a SVHC is present) and provide information that no SVHC / annex XIV substances are present. However, IMDS will not ensure you of full REACH compliance.

The question regarding the raw material for marketing in EU.IMDS already submitted and approved by customers and now, we received REACH registration numbers (four) for already IMDS registrated material.If IMDS must be updated with REACH?
