No, it's simply a standard I've used and owned for many years.. it has a lot of flexibility.

Note... I think they've changed their name to II VI or something like that. Also they stopped maintaining their ISO17025 for their dimensional calibrations.

They do make good scales.

Yea II-VI has bought a lot of companies in the light wave space, some of our customers like Anadigics and Finisar for example.

McMaster-Carr sells calibrated Starret tape measures. Prices are reasonable.

The seller says that they come with "...a calibration certificate traceable to NIST...

Thanks Jim. I should have looked that thing up. I would be interested to see what it looks like or if they assign a recall date on them.
