A minor point: In this thread and other locations I see the “Deming cycle” listed as both PDCA and PDSA. Any Demingites out there that can confirm which one Deming really espoused?
Deming referred to it as the Shewhart cycle in honor of its originator, and changed the "C" to "S" (study rather than check), apparently in the belief that "check" suggested a cursory look-see rather than a more in-depth "study."
What are your thoughts on how well each quality management model fits with the general mangement model presented by Schermerhorn (1966) eg, planning, leading, organising, controlling.
