Interesting Purchase Order for its Terms and Conditions

Seems as good a place as any for this. Uniform companies! Ugh. I've had to step in and audit ours for lots of quality issues and sat down with their state office's GM. When presented with lots of non conforming product being delivered to us over and over, and seeing that they are ISO 9001, I asked him how they dealt with NC. He said there is no such thing as nonconforming product, just opportunities for rework (my paraphrasing.)

And today's winner wants to purchase a $5K piece of product from us, but requires that we maintain 5 million Euros insurance to protect them against any negative events.
Is this the same outfit that wants payment terms of 10% discount if they pay in 90 days and net if they pay in 180 days?

Nice. I wonder if they know that by definition rework can only be done on nonconforming product...

Oh, that's rich. No such thing as nonconforming material, only opportunities for rework. Thanks, I needed a laugh today.

And in looking through some nuclear plant T&C today, I noticed that if the P.O. is for less than $3K we are allowed to use convict labor.

How much time did it take to write that...vs. how much time would it have taken to change the 3 to a 2? Just saying...

And here's a new one -

IF BOTH THE BUYER AND SUPPLIER are in Japan, the ( summing up about 250 words defining organized crime members as "antisocial forces" ) company may not do business with the yakuza, have any members in it, pay them bribes, do them favors, " be engaged in a socially condemnable relationship with ", etc.

This has changed my outlook on full body tattoos - I may need to get some. And perhaps one joint of one finger surgically removed. This could be helpful when dealing with complaints from overseas customers.
