Nobody really, really cares about anything until they've got skin in the game, then it gets real.

Rarely does anyone today have literal skin in the game as you and your cohorts did, Randy, having to go up in the aircraft you repaired or inspected. Yes, that is the ultimate motivator to help ensure a job done correctly.

But that doesn't mean "nobody really cares" unless their life is at risk. Personal integrity and pride, the desire to keep ones job, the desire to ensure the safety of others, moral/ethical obligations, among other things, are at play for many of us.

That's what's "skin in the game" is about. My story was a metaphore. How about, "if it comes out of this plant I ain't buying it", or "if it comes from our restaurant we're not eating it"?

Would you let your family ride in that car?
Would you let your family use that electrical appliance?
Would you buy it?

Would you drink the water? (Oh yeah, Hinkley was in my back yard for 18 years, I worked with and went to church with people from there and Erin interviewed us as well.) Not 100% quality related but it's a good metaphor.......Skin in the game
