Brexit may have precipitated its sale.

Exactly! LRQA may not be wanting to get involved in the Brexit hassle.

In the last couple months I've been assigned to do some certificate transfers from ANAB accreditation to EU Accreditation Body certification locations. One of the latest transfers involved PED 2014/68/EU under EN ISO/IEC 17065:2012

Seems crazy but it's happening, the certificates are basically the same with the difference being the AB listed on them (example ANAB accreditation to RVA accreditation. The process is no different than a registered client transferring a certificate to another CB except the CB's logo, name, etc doesn't change.

I'm seeing similar potential pilot/mechanic training issues between EASA - and whatever the British come up with because of Brexit.

Yes, it is a completely unnecessary bureaucratic mess until both sides see sense and recognize the equivalency of both sets of accreditations.

Meanwhile, the pain has to be inflicted by the EU to dissuade other member countries from leaving the bloc.

It doesn't bode well for the IAF and it's motto.

Yep it seems nuts to me but work is work, especially when you're contracted. I've done loads of certificate transfers for many different reasons (as probably others here have done as well) but the ones dealing with the Brexit situation aren't exactly covered in the guidance documents.

"Certified Once, Accepted Everywhere."
Has that ever been true? For anyone? Ever?

Darned customers...how much easier would life be without them.
Far poorer, but easier...right up until you get hungry...

The IAF (and other interested parties) could make it true again but someone has to step up to stop the posturing
John, it has never been true and, instead of improving, it is only getting worse. When the LOW COST approach jumped from the CB layer to the Accreditation layer, confidence in the process deteriorated even more.

Just one accreditation agency per country was rightfully a monopoly.

And by managing quality we should be able to obtain best value from a monopoly.

But instead of following our own advice…
