Before my wife died in 2018, we were planning to tour Europe for a month or two and during that tour visit the three towns (and a forest) in France with my family name [Bucey]. My ancestors were Huegenots who fled religious persecution in 1687 (a Protestant diaspora.)
The Covid sequestering put a kibosh on my travel plans since then and I only discovered last week (as I was resurrecting my plans) that my passport expires at the end of April. I had to get new passport pictures and send in my old passport to renew it. I suppose I'll still have to wait a bit until world-wide angst over infection calms down, I am waiting to take my second dose of the Moderna vaccine. The first left my arm sore and itchy for nearly a week, PLUS I felt unusually fatigued (Maybe the fatigue is due to being a really old dude.)
I'm also looking forward to Canada opening up and renewing the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario Province. My wife and I used to cram as many as eight shows in a four day visit. Great entertainment and great food!
As a Freemason, I have "Brothers" throughout the world. When I was a "Road Warrior" in my 30s and 40s, I visited many Lodges on my travels. I once sat in Lodge with former President Harry Truman and his Secret Service bodyguards. Truman was once the Grandmaster Mason of all the Masons in Missouri and was as warm and friendly in that one visit as if we had been father and son.
