CQA EXAM

I took the exam today and found the QCI primer super helpful with familiarizing myself with test questions. I used both the QCI and the ASQ handbook during the exam. It took my 4 hours (with full review).

Took/passed the CMQ/OE exam January 2023 after taking cqe/cre/bb on paper prior. Never taken CQA, but some general comments:

1. They do change the material slightly periodically, so i'd suggest you go in with the most current revisions. Definately recomend QCI primers as they are designed as quick references foe use during the exams. Always was the 1st reference I'd go to because of the index and glossary. Worth buying the current CQI, then buying the ASQ handbook as something to read.

2. ASQ now has you take the exam at a computer test center. The computer itself isn't bad. You can skip questions, flag questions for follow up and filter by unanswered, flagged, etc. I found it a good system. On the other hand, Prometric, who is the test center itself is miserable. Their "security" is excessively intrusive and unprofessional and they nearly nearly strip search you (turn out pockets, etc). They count your pencils (limit 2), make you unwrap cough drops, and remove post-it notes used as tabs in books. I've taken 3 exams proctor by ASQ members which were all pleasant and professional -prometric clearly assumed you were trying to cheat but also had people completely ignorant of the topic.

3. Never personally took CQA so i don't know, but always recomend Quality Council of Indiana (CQI) guides. Otherwise bring the ASQ handbook and maybe Juran's if you already own it. Assume in for CQA, bring a copy of 9001.

Good luck,

David
