Sorry Marc, I was just joking. That's why I posted the :vfunny:
I apologise. I just had gotten in from an audit, I was trying to quickly scan the messages quickly and the board was running really slow. The cat hobbled over wanting some attention (I still have a cat if anyone wants a spayed, loving female - I'll FedEd the little 'thing'...) I tuned out the laughing 'Have a Good day' face and was focusing on words yet at the same time I was doing a traceroute to confirm route slowness vs. server delay as the cause of my horrible connection. In short I wasn't focusing.

Just wanted to make sure we weren't going to drag things out into a running nit pick thread.

Marc,
I bet the fact that your grandmother would also pull you by the ear might have an influence on how you behave in her presence. Bet?
Alas, both are long gone but when alive, yes. That's what brought to mind Readers Digest. It was a 'standard' for acceptibility, if you will. Fit for kids to grandparents. I haven't seen one in years, but well remember it and even some 'regular' features like "Humor in Uniform" and "My Most memorable person" or something like that.

Anyway, so it goes.

Even that has changed

I was in the eye doctor's last week and saw the huge edition of R.D. I could read it from across the room. Actually, while I wasn't there for myself, it was comforting not have to squint because I forgot to bring my readers. Maybe I should have been there for myself! :vfunny: That publication never changes, but it has loosened up a bit to address topics long ago considered taboo. ;)

I still have a subscription to RD. It's like reading crib notes!

Marc, we're square. But right now, I'M READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!

I might not be here for a day or two, the contract stuff (UAW) has gotten out of hand. The contract expires tonight and we may not be allowed back into the building for a day or 2. Or at least until we can be "escorted" into work. I told them that I had an escort in my .50 cal and AR-15 but for some unknown reason they don't think that would be appropriate. Go figure.

Anyway, if you don't hear from me it's not because of the change in posting. Not that it would matter, what am I thinking?

Early on, energy asked me 'What's the rush?'. I figured that in a business week you folks could hash this all out amongst yourselves. I didn't want an over night wonder. I wanted people to read and think. That's where the week came from and why I have not participated. I will say I am impressed and it has provided me some time to think about options.

It was nice to see that we could form some loose agreement on guidelines, taking into consideration our own personal definitions of some terms.

With respect to name calling: I don't quite think I'm one of the 'biggest offenders' unless you're speaking of the political threads. We all knew that was a free for all and I even put in the comment under the forum name in the main listing advising those easily offended to keep out.

Even with the guidelines/rules for the Coffee Break forum, would it be worthwhile to consider repeating that comment in the main listing? Hopefully, there will be no offensive material, but if people do not enjoy blonde jokes (I have own personal theory in this area, but I digress) or redneck humour, they should be reminded that entering the CB area is optional (i.e., their choice to make).

However, after this thread, it shouldn't be necessary to delete or edit posts! We know the rules, don't we?

Knowing the rules is just the first part. Now comes the fun part of assessing our ability to abide by them. ;)

Being from Kentucky, 'hillbilly' jokes are OUT! No... just kidding...

Darn! And I was just about to share with you my entertaining anecdote from my visit to Ghent, Kentucky!

All in all, a very lengthy, but informative, post, Marc. Thank you. I do believe that you've shed some light on the inner-workings of the Cove and reminded us of why we're here.

Like, you had anything to do with it, "Roadah"! :vfunny: You have to know I'm only kidding. Where would we have been without our facilitator? Good job. :agree:

For what it's worth, it's 'done'. Let's keep any additional posts in this thread focused on any directly related issues.
