LOL - now I've got to read them!! Thanks.:bigwave:

I think it's the fact that they are Siamese that hooked me. I've always had at least 1 Siamese all my life and they act exactly like they do in her books. They're nice mysteries and not gory at all, so not only can I recommend them to my friends, my teen daughter can recommend them to hers. :D

For Fantasy genre I just finished reading the latest book by George R.R. Martin, A Feast for Crows...the series is excellent thus far, with a perfect combination of action, suspense, drama...vibrantly written, with robust characterization. I'd highly recommend it if you like the Fantasy side of fiction. Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series would also be highly recommended.

George R. R. Martin is THE best current Fantasy author.
There's a new Terry Goodkind SOT (Sword of Truth) book out in paperback.

I've only read a few of Alexander Kent's books so far, we used to get the books that people left on the aircraft and I happened across two of his. Would love to read more of his stuff though, did you enjoy the four you read so far Hershal, recommend picking them up from B&N?

Oh yeah! Well worth it! I only remember three of the titles.....Stand into Danger, Band of Brothers, and Bolitho - Midshipman.....in Midshipman we find out quite a bit more about Hugh also.....

I think my favorites though are To Glory We Steer and Command a King's Ship.....

How about you?

I think I have read most of them as well, but that was a number of years (try 25 - 30 :notme:) ago. Maybe it's time I reacquainted myself with them? :D

I've recently become a fan of James Rollins.

I've tried Clive Cussler - the NUMA series - but decided that his stories have become almost patronizing in the details to the readers. His recent book "Polar Shift" included lines about what the main character made himself for breakfast...how does that fit in with or advance the plot of the earth's magnetic poles shifting?!?! In fact, I finally managed to finish "Polar Shift" - had to force myself - and left the book in my hotel room's garbage can.
