Not Battlestar, but how about Heroes? Anyone watching?

Yes! and loving it! I especially like Hiro the Japanese guy. (I, too, was once a member of the Merry Marvel Marching Society) I suspect his innocence will erode as the series deepens and the reality and responsibility of his power begins to dawn on him. I think we saw that in the Subway episode...I didn't even realize who it was, only knew that the name was the same.

Hiro is definitely an interesting character, it seems like the show could become fairly "dark" given his appearence on the train. I was at a conference this week so I haven't had time to watch the latest episode yet. The senator's brother is an interesting character in that he just seems to be able to replicate the ability of those "powers" around him.

But so far the show has me hooked.......

I am a massive Star Wars and Star Trek fan much to my friends amusement. They think I am particularly sad in that I know which bits of the Star Wars films episodes IV to VI had been added when they were digitally enhanced in the 90s.

With regard to books I can highly recomment the Philip Pullman Dark Materials Trilogy. They were mentioned a few threads ago (The Amber Spyglass, The Subtle Knife and The Golden Compass).

Also an author called Terry Prachet and his discworld books. They are funny, my favourite one is called Mort. It's about Death and how he gets tired of his job and so looks for an apprentice.

Also I am a big Harry Potter fan. I prefer the books to the films because I don't think anything can beat your own imagination.

I had myself a Harry Potter weekend recently. Read the book then watched the movie. I agree the books are better - I mean the actors are great, but there is just so much more going on in the books which isn't in the movies. So the weekend was pretty much an at-home one with 5 books and 4 movies. Finished reading "The Half Blood Prince" last night.
