Guys it is beta. The capability to display valid references seems like a trivial improvement compared to what it is doing now. While any tool in the wrong hands can be misused, the benefits of most tools far outweigh such risk.

This particular tool has the potential to give us all superpowers. Think how hard it is for most folks to compose a basic work instruction, let alone fit it properly into your processes. This thing will do both. Then it will do it in Hakka Chinese for your factory in Fujian. Or you can ask it to rhyme so workers can remember it. Then, when required at points of use, it will go ahead and find it amongst your other 100,000 documents, or even write it from scratch if the knowledge is in your QMS already but the particular instruction is not available. With references. Handling of images, even creation of images is coming too. Have you tried the sister bot Dall-e?

Yup, disruption incoming.

Yes. It will be (Is) a knowledge God capable of perfect memory, integration, and information of entire industries far beyond what a regular person can do. Imagine having perfect memory but also knowing how separate the wheat from the chaff. In a few seconds the worlds formost authority on any subject is there just for you. It could be argued that Google search does that but this isnt really the same.

I’ve tried and it is impressive. Some spammers might use it to pretend they are knowledgeable and prevent being kicked out before they accumulate the 10 posts they need to start hyperlinking unwanted material here.

When they start hyperlinking, the jig will be up shortly. I'm more concerned that forum members may accept ChatGPT posts the same as advice from experienced members. I think it may already be happening.

yep agreed it is a nice "Gee Wizzz.." moment, but wait what could go wrong?? Tech properly applied is fantastic...yet one can only imagine "outcomes" when such apparent thinking power reaches the hands of devious folks. HAL: I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

And of course lest we forget all forms of software are prone to errors, and unintended consequences...

What are some unique risks per ISO 14971 of a software medical device?

ISO 14971 requires that manufacturers of medical devices, including software medical devices, identify and assess all potential risks associated with their device throughout its entire lifecycle. Some unique risks that may be specific to software medical devices include:
  1. Software errors or malfunctions: Software is vulnerable to errors, bugs, and malfunctions that can cause the device to fail, potentially leading to harm or injury to the patient.
  2. Cybersecurity threats: As software medical devices become more connected and integrated with other systems, they may be susceptible to cybersecurity threats, such as hacking, data breaches, and malware attacks, which can lead to loss of patient data, device failure, or even harm to patients.
  3. Changes in software behavior: Software can change its behavior as a result of updates or changes, which can introduce new risks or cause the device to behave in unexpected ways.
  4. User errors: Users of software medical devices may not always follow proper procedures or may make mistakes when operating the device, which can lead to harm or injury to the patient.
  5. Interoperability issues: When software medical devices interact with other devices or systems, such as electronic health record systems, there is a risk that they may not work together as intended, leading to errors or harm.
These risks and others must be identified, evaluated, and managed according to ISO 14971 requirements to ensure the safety and effectiveness of software medical devices.

a bit more on this timely topic...the link below although somewhat off topic, is in two words incredibly informative, especially the input from Missy Cummings a former Naval Aviator and current professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University. Cummings was a naval officer and one of the Navy’s first female fighter pilots. Sobering indeed for those folks who leap into the latest tech developments,,,as I recall full autonomous vehicles were due out in 2019? Full disclosure I am a quasi fan of E Musk, but reality has reared its sobering head...it is worth the time to read in total.
