Before posting...to be certain I am not searching for this "stuff", i have for 3-4 years checked out the avherald.com site at least once daily...pure unbiased interest. Now is this piling on BA?, no, the underlying data is readily available. And in this instance, the described failure could be due to lack of or poor maintenance, etc.

Well Boing (I meant that!) is turning their deaf ears and blind eyes to the flying public again: the board approved $32.8M compensation to the CEO. Do we need anymore proof that greed kills? The US Oligarchy is alive and well-off

Is there really a problem here if the FAA is allowing 5 years to address it, and apparently it has never happened in "nearly 30 years" of flying the aircraft for millions or billions of miles?
