One of the biggest challenges, piling on the atrocious roll-out of the conformity assessment of this amendment via wishy washy communiques from ISO and the IAF, is the fact that CC implications onto a management system will vary wildly, depending on the discipline at hand. For example, CC has close and direct implications for ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. In my estimation, it might have some collateral implications for ISO 45001, but, for the life of me, I can't see correlation with standards such as 37001, 27001 and several others. Whomever is charge of developing and delivering the auditor training on this will be doing a lot of tap dancing.

I absolutely hate it when I have to agree with you. I'm still of a belief that CC has little or no bearing on some QMS folks like, let's say, Home Health Care (which I've audited on occasion on our Maple Leaf cousins turf)

Imagine auditing Company A, a huge energy company. They are addressing climate change with a strategy. Their competitor, another giant energy company is also addressing CC but in a detrimental way and in opposition to company A, essentially not making any meaningful change and exacerbating CC. This is why this needs to be higher level thinking.

As already exemplified in this very thread, this whole debacle shows how toothless this bs mandate is. Auditor asks organization about CC. They reply with a nonsensical marketing bravado that they are the best thing to CC since organic carbon neutral sliced bread. And then?

NOTHING!!!!

They only have to make a determination…. Shsh.

This useless, valueless, pathetic unenforceable mandate just exposes how powerless this amendment is.

Do auditees seem prepared for this question?

So far, have they mainly responded with annoyance, fluff, or a description of substantive actions taken as a result of this requirement?

I've notified my clients for the next 6 months (all standards) and I did that back when all this started.

The answer was "not relevant", but they would continue to evaluate as part of the ongoing risk assessment process, it's included in the "Context" and was part of the MR.
