Mostly such checklists are simply putting the AS9100 requirements into a question “Does the organization…” Nothing more magical that that.
Yea, from a new to the industry perspective, I do feel like the AS9100 can be pretty difficult to interpret though and pretty vague with its requirements while still having pretty specific and large expectations.
I am booked to take a week long general AS9100 auditing course which I think should be a massive help. I took one last month on root cause, and it's wild as they go through and a single sentence in the standard that doesn't have an obvious explanation can need to be implemented as a whole process for itself with only a few popular ways of going about that implementation, but also relatively not much information explaining those things line by line on the internet.
I'm thinking a fair number of things might need to be made from the ground up at my place before an audit next year, so I'm trying to make sure they're implemented well, and are able to stick and be understood by current and aging employees this time. I'm reading through what I can of general quality methods like six sigma or Toyota Production System or Kanban to help out my overall understanding and for tools to use, but they are all very deep and pretty dense.
This forum is a godsend though, and hopefully I'll be able to return the favor for all the help. It's super cool there's a community here to help support each other in this industry.
/end rant, thanks everyone!
