That is why I am asking; we have always done them together and after the transitional audits to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 I got my certificates and they had changed my scope on my certificate. I have been told that now I have to have an additional .5 days added for ISO 9001:2015 in order to cover my Technical side of things. Both the above certificates have the same scope now; when they use to have different scopes. Both automotive and the technical go through the exact same processes just different types of fabric. The audits themselves are no different than they use to be except for the updated parts in the standard.
I assume you do both auto and non-auto work. Technically, your IATF cert. only applies to automotive work, so in essence the scope is limited to that. It's not uncommon in our experience to have additional time to verify non-auto work for ISO purposes.
