API Q2 Specification - QMS (Oil & Gas Industry Aftermarket)

Is anyone aware of the publication timeline for the API Spec Q2 User's Guide? This was previously indicated as mid-way through 2013 but I cannot find references to it in the API catalogue or publications forecast. They are begining to offer a certification pathway but I have not seen any implementation guidance published.

Think of it in the following way. For each job you have quoted a price. In order to arrive at a price, you have to 'design' or include a series of task of the inputs, outputs, verify and validate that the service you have designed produce results.
Or you may consider all for different types of materials, you have designed a process. Actually it is al in your head already of the things you do before you start the NDT. Document those.
This is then applied as the operations
Hope this helps

There is none...I had my lead auditor approved since 2013 - then the API decided that it was no longer TPCP and API-U. THe only program they now offer, is an overview. THere is no competency requirement for consultants.

I also am in the same predicament with in regards to being an NDT Inspection company trying to justify the clause of "Design and Development".

armsdus,

Your organization provides a service. Those services may have evolved over the years but are designed to fulfill customer requirements.

For example, as NDT professionals you advise your customers what sort of testing was applicable or not. And you may interpret the results of your testing. Both of these services are designed.

Also, ask yourselves how often your customers fully specify the NDT services they need from your organization.

(broken link removed) may be useful in this regard.

Halliburton has completed stage-1 audit in more than 15 locations in GOM , Malaysia, Indonesia and Qatar.

Few Locations of GOM has also completed Stage-2 audits.

I was there in GOM as an observer and implemented API Q2 in Qatar facilities.

yes, there are advantages and disadvantages for having API Q1 audit and Monogram audit.
If you get API Q1 certification your company subject to annual audit and any major NC found your license for Monogram maybe suspended as well.

I recommend my clients to have separate CB independently audited and only API Monogram audited by API.

For API Q2 or Q1 Quality Manual, you can just change/replace the "organization" word to your company name plus some editorial changes to the sentences to suit your core business processes. The API auditor will accept it as it has all the elements complied.

I would like to see a draft of this API manual.
