"...three months...once PPAP Fourth Edition has been officially released."

The 4th Edition was "officially released" on March 1, and says,

Effective June 1, 2006, PPAP Fourth Edition replaces PPAP Third Edition, unless otherwise specified by your customer.

Ask your customer; as far as I know there are no "official" requirements in this regard being shared by the B3. Because there are no onerous new requirements, I think it's a good bet that the June 1 date will apply.

June 1, 2006

I just attended the AIAG PPAP 4th Edition Rollout seminar in Huron Ohio.
To paraphrase Hank Gryn (the DaimlerChrysler man in AIAG);

PPAP 3rd Edition expires as of June 1, 2006. After that date you will be required to adhere to PPAP 4th Edition. You may, of course, begin submitting PPAP documents to the 4th Edition at any time.

He also mentioned that the Rollout Presentation, electronic versions of PPAP documents, Customer Specific Requirements and many other resources would be available at the AIAG, IAOB and/or customer websites to members.

Hope this helps.

fourth edition electronic PPAP format

Where can I get a fourth edition electronic PPAP format? I have 65 PPAPs to submit for Hyundai very quickly and they are requesting the fourth edition.

If, you are talking about a full bore system, including FMEA formats, and Control Plans, MSA's etc., that will require a major system like Powerway.

But, if you already have a system, if you get the 4th ed. book as a model, it should be fairly simple to convert a 3rd ed. format to 4th edition in something like MS Excel.

I have been working on my own format since my last posting. When I am finished I will post an attachment so that others may want to use it. Thanks for the info.

AIAG has disks you can purchase that include all the forms you are looking for. I contacted AIAG and they are saying the disks with the 4th edition PPAP forms will be ready around the end of April/first of May timeframe.

If you decide to purchase them, I would you suggest you call first to make sure the disks include the 4th edition forms.

4th Edition PPAP Electronic Documents

As I stated in the previous posting these are PPAP submission electronic documents that I have been working on. Feel free to use if needed.

Note: These forms were made by jeffhenry. The AIAG has requested that I ensure you are aware that the AIAG sells "Official" forms. The AIAG web site.
