All of our internal Auditors are voulenteers. They are often recommended by supervsion. But, no one is forced into the position. Quite frankly I don't want them auditing for me if they are doing it against their will.
So, Joe - what did you do? Are you good at tap dancing? You must have gotten on someone's radar screen!
I've always wondered about volunteering. Why would someone volunteer for a job that doesn't pay, is frustrating, everyone turns away when you arrive to do the audit and management don't take much notice of!
Im in charge of the gauges at my company and the auditor grilled me for about 2 hours. Ta Da no non conformities. I guess the song and dance I gave him proved something. What I don't know

That's actually a key point in passing an (external) audit - having a 'good story' and being a strong process owner. Many of my clients (when I was a consultant) used those principles to be successful in their audits.
Not that they only had a good 'sales pitch', they had to have a good, effective system to show, but it certainly made the audit go a lot smoother...........
Thank you very much. Ever since that audit I was promoted to a quality postion within my company. It justs shows if you take responsiblity of your job good things will happen.
We have a mix of team: part are from quality, part are from the other production dept. (but guys with iso experience). This worked excellent for us. With in-deep question, not only surface documents audit.
