We’re going to spend the next half hour or so focusing on waste. Our goal is not to place blame, but to recognize waste and understand why it exists.
There are seven types of waste, although some people will say there is an eighth type: the waste of not utilizing the talents of people.
After this presentation, we’ll go to the worksite and make observations of these types of waste. Then we’ll return to the classroom and report our observations to each other.
Now let’s look at each of the 7 types of waste in some detail.
