7 basic QC tools examples in Supply chain

Hi,

I am looking for some real world examples of the usage of the 7 basic QC tools (Scatter plot, ishikawa, process map etc) in the Supply chain management? I am doing the training to the SCM team so to show them how they can use these tools in their daily work. Can anybody share some examples / raw data etc

I’m sure someone will be along to give you some examples…but as a trainer you should 1) know how to use the tools and 2) know how they could be used in your supply chain by your students and 3) get your own data and show the students how to use the tools…if you don’t you won’t be able to answer any probing questions and will have little credibility and won’t be able to influence their proper use of the tools.

I’ve taught and influenced for 40+ years so I know how it goes…

Amen to Bev's comments, to attain thorough working knowledge and proficiency in said "tools" one must sweat the details and work the tools and data...only then can one be fluent...and the fluency and competency increases with use...no substitute for "working knowledge" & "experience"...If only one could employ The Vulcan Mind Meld, learning and wisdom would be a breeze

I have an example here. I just finished the first draft. The title is misleading, I need to fix that. It is about Fishbone.

Thanks and i totally agree with your three points and i have also learned that participants ask this question that 'What is in for me'. So i know how to use these tools and it is regarding your second point i need some real world examples. so the delegates can learn how they can use these tool in their daily life.

We have just started implmenting 7 QC tools in our organization and at this moment we do not have much of the data from Supply chain team. I have this challange that i need to teach thses tools to a cross functional team. I do have plenty of manufacturing related examples with real life examples but i could not find some good examples from Supply chain area. And i wanted to see if someone can share example where they have made Pareto analysis on supply chain topics such as a Pareto made to show the suppliers as per various categories or a scatter plot made on Reorder point vs Rush orders quantity etc

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but this was an actual supplier example.
